Major Program Grants

Major Program Grants are defined as a significant application for funds over an extended period of time by:

  • A department, group or team of or aligned to the Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Health Care Group that is not specifically defined as a research project.
  • A researcher, team of researchers or a team of practitioners and researchers of or aligned to the Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Health Care Group that is specifically related to a large research project or part of a larger research project not already attracting RAC (Research Advisory Committee) funding.

Process:

Major Program Grant Expressions of Interest (EOI) are sought in conjunction with the Annual RAC Research Grants application round in August-September

EOI’s are submitted to and assessed by the RAC and follow the regular RAC assessment process

RAC will provide recommendations, by way of ranked applications, to the Foundation Board in February or March of each year

The Foundation Board will determine which EOI’s will be awarded for that year and inform the RAC who will distribute the funds by the end of March

If successful, the applicant agrees to terms and conditions of the RAC Grant Contract -- including periodic reporting, opportunities for PR, health promotion etc
