These are certainly testing times for us all. I wanted to reach out and update you on how the foundation is handling the unfolding situation.
I want to give you all my pledge, that Charlies Foundation for Research is here to support each and every person in our community. This includes not only our incredible supporters, but also all of the health care workers across Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Hospitals.
No matter the challenges we may face, we will face them together as your charity, a charity for everyone in Western Australia.
Charlies Foundation for Research is working hard to establish how we can contribute to the staff and the public at this tough time, but we are still strongly supporting all other research initiatives within the hospital as we always have.
During these challenging and unprecedented times, the Foundation is carefully following WA Department of Health guidelines about COVID-19. We are unwavering in our promise that the health of our community is of paramount importance.
We have taken precautionary measures aimed at protecting our staff and have begun the challenging task of setting up remote offices so we can still serve the community.
Please be assured that we will continue to operate with stringent guidelines ensuring ethical and transparent fundraising practices in line with the Fundraising Institute Australia’s Code.
Despite all that is going on around us, we still have our other job to do. And that is, to fund exceptional research within the Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group, that is improving patient treatment outcomes every day. We are still saving and changing lives.
Disappointingly I need to tell you all that we have had to postpone our Cape to Cape walk along with many other community events. Whilst these may be paused, I would ask that your support for us at this crucial time is not.
No other time have patients and staff of our Hospitals needed your support more. There are many ways that you can continue to support us.
In our recently published newsletter, we asked you to consider sending back a message of support for those Health Care Workers on the front line. Please feel free to email your message of support to email@example.com or should you be in a position to do so, consider making a donation that could save lives by clicking here.
And of course, one of the best ways you can support us all, is to follow the guideline set out by the WA Department of Health. Please follow social distancing protocols, these measures are so important in protecting our vulnerable at a time like this.
If you need anything during this time please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. We are here for you. I can be reached on firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for taking the time to read this through. We hope you’re well and we wish you all the best.
