On July 30th, Charlies Foundation for Research invited some of very special members of the community to join us for morning tea and hear from Mena, a researcher and Neurological Physiotherapist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, as she shared insights into her incredible work.
The morning provided an opportunity for the Charlies Foundation for Research community to come together, hear first-hand how donations are helping to support vital medical research, and learn more about one of the critical research areas currently being explored through the Foundation’s support.
Mena’s research was featured in this year’s Tax Appeal and focuses on better understanding and treating pusher syndrome, a condition that can affect stroke and brain tumour patients, making it challenging for them to stand and maintain balance. Mena’s vision is to create a more personalised care pathway for brain tumour patients undergoing neurosurgery, oncology treatments and rehabilitation, ensuring their treatment and recovery journey is tailored to their individual needs.
It was a wonderful morning hearing first-hand the passion, dedication and impact of a highly regarded researcher like Mena. We were also grateful to have members of her team join us, alongside some of our valued donors, sponsors and partners.
Thank you to @DFR Commercial, @Capital Partners, @Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, @Perth Radiological Clinic Foundation, @Nova 93.7 and @BE Perth for your ongoing support and commitment to advancing research and patient care at Charlies.
