This year, Charlies Foundation for Research is a proud beneficiary of the Dry July Campaign.
We are inviting community members to sign up for Dry July, pledging to give up alcohol for a month, and help enhance the SCGH Comprehensive Cancer Unit. The Foundation's goal is to create an even more welcoming, supportive and healing environment for patients affected by cancer and their loved ones during this difficult period.
With almost 70,000 people visiting this space each year, the project in the Comprehensive Cancer Centre will focus on uplifting the waiting areas to ensure they are calm, comfortable and thoughtfully designed – to make sure there’s a place people can breathe and feel safe during times of uncertainty.
By committing to go alcohol-free for July, you’ll feel the health benefits such as sleeping better and having more energy - you’ll also help raise awareness and funds for people in their time of need and create small moments of joy when its needed most.
With support from funds raised in Dry July 2026, we aim to transform the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Cancer Care Unit waiting areas into a more welcoming, supportive, and healing environment. Together, these improvements will create a more compassionate, human-centred environment, supporting the wellbeing of patients, families, and staff, while also lifting the morale of the clinicians who care for them every day.
Support this transformation by signing up and fundraising for Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Dry July 2026 or making a donation today. Every contribution helps create a more comfortable and uplifting experience for those facing cancer.
